National Black Alcohol and Addiction Council and CEO Turning Point, Minneapolis, MN
CEO, Vincent “Peter” Hayden, PhD, initially co-founded Turning Point in 1976 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dr. Hayden’s efforts were to help addicted African Americans with a basic crucial concern mainstream establishments could not, a culturally specific approach. Dr. Hayden was recently awarded the inaugural: “Diversity, Inclusivity and Racial Equity Award” for pioneering culturally specific treatment. Turning Point is one the longest operational black owned and operated residential programs in the country. Dr. Hayden is a national speaker who advocates and promotes a culturally specific and gender relevant approach for people of African Ancestry. He is a highly sought-after speaker, and we are excited to have him in Massachusetts at the BAI. Dr Hayden is also the Chair of the National Black Alcohol and Addiction Council
